I her first ever triathlon, Sonia O`Sullivan managed 2nd place in the Tri Monkstown Triathlon in Monkstown Co. Cork yesterday.

After coming through a solid swim Sonia, aboard her brand new Planet X RT57 put in great bike leg to put here in a great position to attack on the run. Sonia put in an uber impressive 19.30 run split (her first ever run off the bike) to finish in a time of 1hr 17mins. Just 3 minutes behind female winner Andree Walkin from GoTri.

Following on from the recent success of Lance Armstrong in their conversion to triathlon Sonia is the latest athletic super-star to have been bitten by the triathlon bug. Judging from her times she will prove to be a major threat in any race she enters.

Next up for Sonia and her RT 57 is the London to Paris 3 day charity cycles for the Childrens Leukemia Trust. Sonia will put in a punishing 162km for 3 consecutive days as she makes her way from London to the French Capital.
