Whether you've moved over to discs, or are still relying on your rims to slow you down, we've got race-day covered thanks to these 38mm carbon tubulars. Much like our tried and tested race winner, the 50/50 tubs, this updated version slash overall weight, keep the strength locked in, and slice through the mud like cake.

The equipment preference in the pro ranks of 'cross is a fluid situation, discs one minute, canti the next, front derailleurs on and off, however, the more eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed a more subtle wheel variation, the depths of are starting to shrink again. Just look at Sven Nys' recent choices, sub-40mm depths are all over the place right now.

Of course, you'd be forgiven in the first instance for thinking that deeper section wheels would hinder your chances in the mud, but quite the opposite, tracking is vastly improved and handling dialled in and constant. Strength too is improved, a benefit clearly of importantance in the rough and tumble of your average 'cross race. Also, and it goes without saying, if you happen upon a dry course and manage to push your speed into the realms where aerodynamics really take hold, deeper section wheels will gladly give you that extra helping hand too.

Carbon fibre tubular rims can be damaged if force is used to remove the tyres without the user first attempting to soften the tub glue used to affix the tyre to the rim. The longer the tyres have been on the rim the greater the risk.

We strongly recommend that owners use an appropriate solvent to soften the glue prior to removal. Acetone is ideal for softening old tub glue, it works quickly and can be dripped onto the tyre/rim join easily.

Planet X reserves the right to deny warranty on carbon tubular wheels where the rim has been damaged as an obvious result of ignoring the above advice and applying excessive force to remove a tub. Where possible we reccomend the use of tub-tape to glue your tyres onto your rims.
